oCean patrol VeSSel
Four units of the THETIS-class were delivered to the Royal Danish Navy in 1992. These ocean going ice- strengthened vessels are designed for the rough conditions in the North Atlantic area and are primarily deployed for surveillance duties in areas around Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The vessels have three Standard Flex container positions; one on the forecastle is generally used for a 76 mm gun mount. The vessel has complete facilities for a medium size helicopter and has also been deployed in international operations, i. e. as escort in UN World Food Program.
The THETIS-class is undergoing refit and midlife update including minor conversion to accommodate SEAHAWK helicopter MH-60R from 2017.
